This is a colored pencil painting. It uses a technique I found on the Internet. You lay down ground color and use a solvent to “melt” the pigment into the texture of the paper so no white paper shows through. I am scared to death this piece is going to be a failure. I am using the wrong kind of paper and a really bad computer printout of a low resolution photo. I still haven’t learned enough self-respect to use the best materials for my work. But, I can’t quit until I finish. There will be things to learn…
I ended up trying to make up for the lousy paper by using art markers to fill in the white from the poor pigment adhesion. I could not get good darks. Not sure if it helped or made it worse.
