This is a painting of fake fruit and a fake radish. It was a very challenging subject to paint because I had to fight the tendency to try to make the fake fruit look real. The class ended before I could finish, so I ended up trying to finish it with a picture of the setup taken with my cellphone. I really don’t know how successful this painting is. The composition seems unbalanced by the fruit being placed so high in the picture plane. I am learning so much, each painting teaches me what not to do as well as what can work.

This is what I ended up with. I don’t hate it, but I never want to paint fake fruit again…
