Last Minute Final Painting

This was about as last-minute as a (art) student can wait. I began at 9pm the night before it was due (9am) and called it quits at 5:00am. I did sleep for 40 mins. before starting my day and dropping kids off at their bus stop.

Here’s how it went:

This painting is one of a series of three we were supposed to do for our final project. We had three weeks to work on them. The first week I was away at a retreat, the second week I was scrambling with last-minute preparations for my son’s wedding, including having my sister stay with me for a week, and the third week I was trying to finish the final project for my drawing class (previous post). So all that, with my intense procrastination, left me with one day (or night) for my painting final. I heard the instructor would accept one painting if she felt enough time was put into it. Well, she’s no dummy.

It is what it is…
