This is my first attempt at drawing a human portrait with markers. My last two attempts with markers were portraits of dogs, and though I think they could be better, they came across convincingly. What’s more important is that the client was very happy.

This portrait was proving to be a little too ambitious for my limited experience with this medium. After I drew in the second eye, I decided it was going to be a failure and I knew I had to take a few days off to adjust my attitude. I really think I should have started over, but because this blog is about chronicling my growth, I will post the results. The client was not impressed and I did not make a sale.
